Las Vegas City Guide Las Vegas Transportation As you might expect in a city as important as Las Vegas, there are excellent transport links both into and out of the city. As well as the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, the city is served by the American rail network and is also easily reached by road. Las Vegas by Air Las Vegas is served by the McCarran International Airport (LAS). Located just two miles from the famous Strip, LAS is one of the busiest airports in the world. Las Vegas by Road Las Vegas is situated at the bisection of Freeway 15, which connects to Mesquite and Salt Lake City in the north and California (Los Angeles and San Francisco via Interstate 5) in the south. Getting Around Las Vegas There is an exceptional choice of public transport that serves downtown Las Vegas twenty-four hours a day. Taxis are two-a-penny (metaphorically speaking, of course) and car hire is also popular. City buses travel via the Strip into downtown and a cheap shuttle bus runs between the major casinos and hotels. For more Las Vegas information, visit the Las Vegas city guide content index. |
